Close call yesterday.

Nearly got hit by a car yesterday while out hacking!! Nobodys fault just a very near accident. There are Touring Cars on at Oulton Park so lots of boy racers whizzing about ignoring the big brown 4 legged.
Fortunately for me the car that nearly hit me was a lot more responsible. There was a couple walking a dog in a field by the road. The dog went to run at Whisk who spooked, couple called dog back (it went straight away) which made him spook again just as a car was driving past us. She had slowed right down but not stopped. I yelled STOP and she slammed the brakes on and did!!
I said a big thankyou to her and managed to make it home in one piece. Am staying off the roads today, will leave them to the idiots who think they are racing drivers!!

I had something similiar happen when I was thirteen.

I had a 13.2 pony in Denny and me and my Auntie on her 16.2 TBx were out hacking. I was infront of her horse and the motorcyclist did not see us.
He squeezed past Savannah and a car and goodness knows how me missed me & Joe... Thankfully, Joe didn't flinch. If he had, it wouldn't have ended well. My aunt said if he had moved just a couple of inches the wrong way, that'd of been it. Owe my life to that wee pony.

Now i'm pretty catious and pretty scared to hack...

Glad to hear both you and your horse are safe! People need to pay more attention. Horse & rider on roads are now in the Theory test ha!
