It's only recently that I've discovered the bitless bridle, and I have some questions that google can't seem to give me the answer too.

Websites claim that this bridle is good for horse that lean on the bit ( obviously because the bit is no longer there ) , so does this mean that horse won't work in an outline?

Also, would you have less control of the horse? One site said that the bridle allows a horse to gallop freely -- my question is how freely?

Is is it not the same and sticking a head collar on and attaching reins?
 
There are lots of different types of bitless bridle. Horses CAN work in an outline bitless! Some bitless bridles, such as english hackamores are very strong...and german ones even stronger. The only one like a headcollar with reins is a sidepull type. There are whole websites devoted to bitless.

Not really; bitless bridles hurt a bit more than just a headcollar :-)
