Hmm, got vids of the boys up in Scotland but not bowled over, still thinking about going up to see them, dropping by to look at a clydie cross cob (though wonder if it will be eventing suitable). Can I find any others to go an see? Can I b*ggary!

Bums :(

Yeah, him and another one they had, they have very untidy feet but look OK, basically have a trot up of each of them and them having their feet picked up. Looks a lot heavier in the vid than the pics too.

I would do as I did and get in touch with the Clydedale Horse Society. Or look at their website. They may well be able to put you in touch with breeders who do crosses - I think there used to be Ian Young in Aberdeenshire, and I'm quite certain that there will be others (although I'm a bit out of touch now!). Also the website has horses for sale and these might be good information for breeders to contact, who whilst not having anything themselves may well be able to point you in the right direction. Good Luck!

Yes unbacked, I have a lot of help with that too :) I have a 17hher at the mo too.

Thanks for suggesting other breeders, I'll see if I can google Ian xxx

I knox Tom Dunbar in Airdrie has a clydesdale cross TB at the mo. 4yo just gelded. Bay. about 16h I think.
Very athletic looking a proper jumper look about him, and a sweety too. Needs feet done and is only halter broken I think but I liked him.
Need to be quick tho' as he sells the good uns within days.

No nothing that fancy- he sells them before he can take pictures!
Google horse dealer Tom Dunbar North Lanarkshire.
He is a bit rough and ready - no fancy yard or trying facilities. You like it , you buy it, no good you return it sharpish.

Get an Irish draught. Nice clydesdale temperament, much more athletic! A good clydesdale X is hard to come by and are rarely more that RC level ability (not fast enough for real eventing)

Kallibear, you must be psychic, my friend said almost the exact same thing! I am starting to look Irish Draught, ISH (which is what I have now, have found my current 20yo as a 5yo! :) )

ISH RULE OK! I think that's what I have decided on too as my current share is one (I just thought it would be a bit obvious!) and her son is about 3/4 ID but he is somewhat of a handful at 8 and acts like an unruly Alsatian puppy, the scallywag!

However look at this clydie x warmblood just for fun http://www.preloved.co.uk/adverts/show/105660077/genuine-all-rounder.html

Too old for you and too small I guess but hasn't she got a dainty little face?!

Have you thought about a different heavy cross?

There are quite a few Percheronx N Forest or Percheron Xtb down south. Possibly some of the breeders mostly in Suffolk / Norfolk could help.
