Hey Irish peeps: can anyone offer an opinion/insights into good livery yards in Co Wicklow (ideally close to Dublin or DART line) especially in terms of costs and facilities. Thanks in advance.
There are a good few yards in North Wicklow, along the N11 and pretty accessable by bus. The closest to Wicklow town would be Marlton http://www.marltonstud.com/livery.htm and Ballenteskin, which is a showjumping yard although would be bit further out. There's a couple of private yards in Newtownmountkennedy and Newcastle area, just off the N11. Fairmont http://www.fairmontstables.ie/ , Dragonhold stables and another DIY yard which I can PM you contacts for. There's Bel air http://www.belairhotelequestrian.com/Hor..._Vacations.html , which is in Ashford and has great hacking and cross country. Boswell is also near Ashford, but would be a good walk! Brennanstown is just past Bray http://www.brennanstownrs.ie/ . Costs do vary quite alot and some yards specialise in different things, so it would probably depend on what you do with your horse. Highland View Lodge maybe.Tina Mc Dermott owns it and I am nearly sure they do livery.If you google it it should come up for you.Good luck with your search.
