nasty....

No other vehicles involved, knowing that stretch of road very well, either puncture and a swerve, or speed.............

Very very sad that so many people were injured or indeed lost their lives.

I hold my PCV licence and when doing that stretch of road, it has a kind of curve that gathers momentum to it.......not a nice thing to happen whatever the cause.

I've just read somewhere that they've arrested the coach driver for death by dangerous driving

You'd think if they were working for National Express that NE would make sure they could drive properly first

I drove round that bend today - amazing - no sign at all of the crash.

It is indeed a twisty turning slip road and can quite imagine if you got it wrong in a double decker coach - you could get it very wrong

The latest reports in the paper suggest the coach was travelling near to it's maximum of 62mph round the bend

Add to that the fact that those double-decker coaches have a reputation for instability and you have a recipe for disaster

Just read in paper that they think the driver may have been driving over his speed limit t ocatch up as he was behing time?? Also NE has taken all its coaches off the road to have them checked out. Also that one Mother & her 2 kids where made amputies in the accident (I can not start to imagine how they must feel.) I mean bad enough having to learn to cope with your own disabilty but for both of your children to suffer the same just horrendous. They have my deepest sympathies all of the accident victims.
Where any of them wearing seatbelts?? Would be interesting to know as if they were or not would having them on caused less damage to them orbecause they had them on they were stuck where they were & so caused more damage?? (if that makes sense??)

I wouldn't even consider doing 62mph in my car around that bend
