Last year, she approached the BHS with coaching standard concerns and suggested greater visibility around reporting inappropriate behaviour and reinforcing the coach code of conduct, only to be told social media should focus only on the “positive” side of the industry.
Comments from the equestrian community online suggest this may not reflect lived experience. One commenting that there can be a culture of “close ranks”.
The majority of coaches do exceptional work. But no industry is 100% perfect — and transparency strengthens trust, not weakens it.
