am wondering what everyone uses on their horses coats or feeds for coat shine and condition?
my coloured mare could do with being more shiney- shes fed comp mix and chaff, with sunflower seeds and she gets groomed everyday and hot clothed once a week.

I fed Feedmark's Benevit suppliment throughout the winter, alongside Alfa A Oil - and my grey horse just glowed.

Having now cut his feed right down, I'm just adding corn oil every day to his tea - and his skin and coat are looking wonderful.

My horse gets oil in his feed everyday, used to be cooking oil now on vegetable oil :)

He is very shiny, considering I groom him properly once a week :p
But he is bay, it is very very difficult to get/see a shine on a coloured horse :)

Baileys Outshine... been on it for about a month now and their coats and general condition are so much better, even the coloured has a lovely shine to his coat :)

I use Blue Chip Original and my mare's coat has a lovely shine.

I also, once a week use pig oil. Just a bit on a sponge and gently coat all over - the next morning she gleams.

Mine is on 1 scoop safe and sound/cool fibre, plus pink powder 2x per day plus plenty of hay, that's it and has been for the last year. When I finish grooming him I use a soft damp cloth to go over his coat and lift any surface dust. I do use canter mane and tail conditioner for his mane and tail as it is so long and thick, and that does a lovely job of keeping it tangle free and non-greasy. Don't have any recent pics - this is him in the summer, but he is just as shiny now, if a lot fluffier!

Our grey is on a similar diet plus pony nuts, and has a surprisingly good shine for a grey...maybe its something in our grass!

Another vite for linseed, here. Have been feeding it to both ponies over the winter and both of them look fabulous. It's my first Spring with my mare, but I'm hoping that the lack of scurf in her coat is due to the linseed, as she was awfully dandruffy before! I bought in bulk through Charnwood Milling. A fraction of tack shop prices.

My dapple grey is incredibly shiny surprisingly enough - he has quite a silky coat compared to normal coarse coats that greys/coloureds have.

He just gets fed vegetable oil in his tea and has good grass.
