Cob showing

Hi everyone, Im new and this is my first post here, so please be gentle lol. I have had my cob for a year now, he is 14.2, I think quite nicely proportioned and is lovely under saddle, I want to show him locally this year, my only concern is the thickened skin he has how badly will he be penalised for this? Is there anything I can do to reduce its appearance? Any showing tips will be gratefully recieved, thank you!

I do county cobs, not 100% sure on local, but local he should be fine with his thickened skin - it will depend on the day/judge and competition your against wether hes put down for this - only one way to find out!
He wont be ridden by judge so your be doing a indvidual show, keep it short and sweet and inc a gallop
And turnout yourselfs out to the highest standard you can, clean tack, white socks etc etc
Best of luck for your shows he looks lovely, my only negative would be he may be a little on the small side at 14.2 against others imo BUT you wont know till you ve had a go

Thank you very much! Cob classes here are usually quite small, last year I was at a county show and there were only 4! So Hopefully he won't do too badly
