We decided to still go to Cobham Manor yesterday even though the weather was bad. At first it was ok, there was just light rain/drizzle. There was not many people were there compared to the last time we went, but there was still a quite a few. I decided to go up a class and do the 90cm and 1m instead of the 80cm and 90cm, and it wasn't long before I was in. He had warmed up nicely but in that time the wind had really picked up and a few weights had been put out to stop the jumps from falling over. We knocked number 3 and then refused at 4 and 7 and got eliminated. For some reason almost all the horses found those two jumps incredibly scary, and very few didn't get eliminated.
We then waited for the 1m and absolutley froze, and in the mean time the wind was very strong and basically all of the jumps were being blown over in the warm up areana and main areana. I still went in as we had already paid and just had a go. I managed to beat him over most of the jumps, but we stopped at the same jumps and got eliminated again.
Even though it didn't go well, I didn't mind considering the awful conditions - I only saw 2 clears and about 6 not get eliminated in both classes! No more showjumping until the 19th of April now as I;ve got a few sponsored rides.
