Hi Guys

New around here guys. I've got a 4 raising 5 cob mare that was growing beautifully then stopped a 13.2. Her mum was 14.2 her dad 14hh. Has anyone got experience of growth with this? I have been told they develop late. She was sold to make 14hh.

Thanks guys xx

Thanks well she has a lot of filling out to do so 13.2 is fine. I'm 5.5 and 11st (on a diet) so my goal weight is 10.5 so she will be fine. I think 🤔. She already takes my leg.
My friend is also 5’4 i think and fits him fine too. She just has a little pocket rocket now because he is by no means slow 🤣🤣🤣

Neither of the grown up cobs I've had stopped growing before they were 8. My old boy was 5ish when I got him and in 5'9 rugs and just about 14.3hh on his tiptoes (although sold as 15hh). He eventually was in 6'3 rugs and a good 15.1hh. My current chap was 6 when I got him and he was 15.1hh and in a 6'3 rug. He stopped growing at 8, although continued filling out with work. He made 15.3hh and a 6'9 rug.

I have yearlings at the moment. One is already 15hh (his parents were 16hh and 15.2hhish). The other is little. I think 14.1hh approx but I don't want to depress myself by measuring. Both parents were around 15hh so I'm hoping for at least 14.2hh but I'd really love 15. I keep staring to see if any growth is coming! At least there's plenty of time, since we are only at 16 months now.
