A few months ago I decided to affiliate my cob. He'd done pretty well in his half dozen trips out at unaffiliated so we thought we'd give it a go.

So, after bathing and plaiting... no wait.. we don't have to spend hours getting sore fingers because we're a hogged cob!!

Anyway, after bathing and sock whitening and waiting half an hour for his lordship to decide he'd deign to wander onto the lorry, off we went to Hunters Equestrian.

First test (prelim 7) was in the indoor school. Dom was a little tense and one or two of his transitions weren't the best but overall it wasn't a bad test. The judge's comments seemed very fair (except where they said sweet horse - they didn't see the little g*t when I was trying to load him!!

) and he got 63.5% coming 5th (or possibly 4th) in the class.

Second test (prelim 13) was outside and Dom was much more relaxed by then. He did a nice, accurate test and scored 67.08%!

What was more he came second!

As the class was a winter qualifier it means we have part of a regional qualification on our first attempt at affiliated.

To say I'm thrilled may be an understatement!

Anyway, couldn't have done it without the fabulous Mike who rides him and has persevered with Dom through many problems and my wonderful chauffeur/horse holder Folara. So thanks guys.

Here is Dom being a superstar. There are no pics of him being a s*d loading at both ends of the day cos he's in my good books!!
