Cockers! Why so popular?

My 10YO is fab :D TBH I chose the breed as we were into showing at the time, and I was a small 10YO child and couldn't reach to show our setter, so went for the smalled gun dog breed so we could still go to the same shows but I could run him up and show him myself ;) He's done v little showing as he didn't grow big enough but his temperament with both people and other dogs is 2nd to none and he's the ideal 'pet' dog IMO- he's not manic in any shape or form, but will walk all day if you ask him to. The only thing he's not great at is his recall is somewhat selective, though he never bolts away, just trots in the other direction  He's entire and has coped well with our new manic terrierX puppy and also gets on well with our neurotic lab :)

Hi there, I do not work the picardie he is a pet, but they make very good working dogs, they point which is natural to the breed and flush and pick up, he has a very soft mouth. they are very people friendly, good with all manner with pets and livestock. My boy was bred by M. Caboche of La Vallee de L'ysieux and is pedigree papered with Societe Centrale Canine for chien en France.
They also do liver and white and curly coated as diffferent sections of the breed. the origins come from when english hunters went to France to shoot for game and instead of hassles of taking their english setters back they left them in France at differant kennels, hence they were bred with a french spaniels and this is now the breed.
The 3 types are if you want to look are
Epagneul Picard
Epagneul Bleu de Picardie
Epagneul de Pont Audemer

They are very popular in the States and are reckonised there, the Kennel Club do not reckonise them in the UK.
I dont know anyone else with one or even any in the country.
