The farrier said to give my two some cod liver oil as their hooves are a bit dry - I got the oil today but didn't realise it doesn't say how much to feed. Sooooo....
how much should I give a 13.2 cob and a 16.2 cob please?

Used to feed to my 15.3HH TB - One capful twice a day was what the recommended amount was on the back of the container - it was Marksway Horse Hage Brand - probably the same for any brand.

I think your farrier is having you on!!

Well if it works for horses like it does for humans I think it will do his hooves the world of good. I used to take it and it made my hair and nails lovely

I have also heard it suggested that you apply it to the hooves as you would hoof oil, if you do perhaps do it at night rather than the day as its cooler so wont bake his hooves.

I mix it with cornucresine and keretex and paint it straight on 2-3 times a week keeps the wall from drying too much

You would honestly be better standing your horse in a bucket of water. Oil just forms a barrier on the hoof wall and stops the natural passage of water in and out.

I have found linseed oil to be brilliant for the horses coats and condition- I only have to feed a small amount of it and both my vet and farrier have asked me what Im feeding my horses as their coats and feet look really good on it. I also have my old sj pony- she's 26 and a cpl of years ago was just starting to lose the shine on her coat- I could swear that this has brought it back-There is a particular make of it that I use from Horsham, west sussex- its fab stuff!..
