has anyone used or is in the process of using cold laser therapy, if so how are you getting on with it and what have you used it for?
Would appreciate your opinions.
Prob best to get a physio to advise you as they will be aware of which settings to use for different conditions as there are so many different combinations of settings and contraindiactions/precautions that should be taken into account when treating a horse with laser.
Hope this helps.
I hired a cold-laser unit for three weeks when my horse injured his DDFT last May. I couldn't afford to spend £400 on buying something that might not work but at £100 for the hire it seemed a reasonable risk and the company said that should be a long enough period of time to show some improvement in the tendon. It may well work for some but made no difference to my boy.
The unit came with a comprehensive user manual and I felt happy about using it.
Someone in our village has one and have treated our horses over the years. Excellent results on haematoma, also seemed to reduce soft swelling quicker. I have had cold laser treatment in physio at hospital for haematoma, I hobbled in with a lot of pain and after treatment could walk normally so can definitely say they can reduce pain.
