I currently use magnet boots, but I would like some form of cold boot, can anyone recommend me some? I think you put them in the freezer and then on the horse?

Also, I used arnica cooling gel, (was buying tablets and saw it so bought it), It worked brilliantly. But a £5 tube lasts only a couple of days, I have seen cooling gels for horses, but its for after hard work like xc and things, can I use that regularly for a horse at rest, or is there something similar to the arnica one that I could use?

Staytite cooling gel contains arnica and it says it can be used routinely after exercise. I find it's the only one that one of our horses doesn't have an adverse reaction with -we only used it after xc or if the ground is hard but I can't see why you couldn't use it on a regular basis.

We've used a few types of cool boots and I like the aerborn ones best as the are a good length and adjust well - you just immerse them in water to activate them.

Cheap ice cube bags and tubi-grip work really well! Double the tubi-grip so the fold is in the bottom and slip it onto the leg, then stuff the ice cube bag into the pocket. You could bandage over the top if you needed to.

I have some premier equine ones that soak in cold water before use and they are great :) Easy to use, good fit and quick to put on :)
