Hi pony showed symptoms yesterday vet called injection given pony appears to respond and poos about 4pm. Although not eating appears settled overnight. This morning in pain again no further bowel movements. Vet called and gave a good dollop of parafin 4 hrs on no improvement .... If it is going to work how long would you expect it to take?

If in doubt phone the vet back, they can take a long while to respond depending on the cause, it sounds like an impacted colic which means the liquid parafin needs to work its way through slowly and gradually loosen up the faeces that are blocking the way by being dry.
Has the vet done an internal? as that along with little being eaten may mean it will be slow to improve. Some gentle exercise may help but check with the vet before doing anything you are unsure about.

Hi impaction colic can take a while but if pony becoming painful or your not
Happy then call your vet back , how's ur pony doing ?? X

I would be phoning the vet back but also get the pony moving, either walk out in hand or else turnout in a school type area. Movement will help get the gut moving again.
