What are your thoughts on the link between the 2??

We've never previously had any horses that crib, and never had a horse with colic.

We've got 2 that do now, Badger had several bouts last winter and one in the summer, and Tully has been quite poorly with it this week.

It may just be coincidence but it seems to be that they must be connected??

Badger is on Coligone now and no problems so far.....think Tully will go on it now too..

My cribber has been prone to bouts of colic in the past, although I think I've got it managed quite well and she's only had one small episode in.... *thinks* 6-7 years now.

I think keeping her out and on a very high fibre diet is the answer with Star. I don't think it's the air that does it, so much as the way she will stand and crib intead of eating forage. The last time I did stable her I mixed her hard feed into a giant tub with loads of dengie hi-fi and alfa oil because she'd eat little haylage when there was a door in front of her for her to hang off all night. Hence she winters out and hold condition better than in.

I hate stabling my cribber. She doesn't get stressed or anything, but I can't stand watching her crib constantly
