Hi, last year one of the horses and my riding school got colic except he was not rolling or had any bedding on him, he was just sitting there looking at me. When one of the workers looked at him they said he had colic and started waking him around. Another time another horse that i was going to ride had colic, i could kind of tell because she was lying down with all tack on. I know how horses get colic though. On Saturday, one of the new horses were lying down and had a few chippings on her back so i didn't know if she had colic or not, i went to the arena to watch my friend's lesson and when we came back she was standing up and eating normally which was reliving. So how do you know if a horse is just resting its legs or has colic?

When there resting their leg, there just resting there leg really. When they have colic they aren't there normal self, very quite. Hardly eating, no poos, pawing, looking at there belly, sweating, rolling . Its generally about knowing what is normal for your horse.
