if I were to try Coligone in a mare who has an attitude to life at times, although touch wood no apparent digestive issues, how long could it be before I saw any improvement. days? weeks?

I know this is difficult as they all differ, and I could ask H Bradshaws, but to start with I'd be interested to hear first hand experiences, or if you tried it and it didn't work.

pm if you prefer

it depends on why your horse is so grumpy, if she is already receiving a balanced diet with all the vits and mins and pre/pre biotics and has no digestive issues..it may be that you won't see any changes at all. More diet problems at the moment are likely to be impaction colic rather than the ulcerative variety in my view

anything is worth a try, but unless there is actually something wrong with your mare, I think a change of handling is just as mood enhancing as tinkering with the feed. i only have the liquid for my windsucker..he isn't keen on it (spits it eveywhere) but have read good reports so have a completely open mind on the product

It took about 2 days for my mare who's normally very stressy to be totally chilled and a joy to be around

I'm intrigued as to why you would try coligone if she has no known digestive issues? It may well turn out to be a digestive issue you were not aware of it and may help, but otherwise I can't see why it would make any difference to her attitude?

Well in a way that is exactly the point, I don't 'know' of anything and she has had a fair few tries on different feed regimes, all low or no starch and high fbre, but with variations.

If the face pulling and so forth is just her, then of course no feedstuff will make a jot of difference, but should there be something I am unaware of Coligone may be the answer.

I recently tried her on Linseed Lozenges and she became very sharp both turned out in the field and to handle. That was a protein thing, pure and simple.
