Just ordered coligone in liquid and also powder form for my horse who has had ulcers and is now ulcer free. Iv heard good reviews about this product. Would like to hear other peoples views on it?
It's the closest thing you'll ever get to magic fairy dust for stressy horses! I've seen it work miracles on stressy and/or unhappy horses. I keep a supply because my veteran had an episode of gassy colic (totally my fault) a few years back. After the vets had worked their own magic with Buscopan, I was recommended Coligone and after speaking with the manufacturers I now put him on it for 3 days if something different is happening for him eg new field, vets in the lorry, etc etc. I also know people who have seen their loopy-going-on-dangerous horse change almost overnight to a calmer happy boy with Coligone, and they are now terrified to take him off it! I'd keep the aniseed liquid for emergencies and use the minty powder for maintenance.
It sounds amazing stuff i cant wait for it to be delivered. I am going to feed him the powder daily and use the liquid for competitons things like that and the sort of things you mentioned like stressy situations ect. The specialist wanted me to use ritetrac but its so expensive and iv heard it works on some but not on others, but with the coligone all i have heard is good things!
I have also used Colgone Liquid on 2 mares now, mainly for after ulcer treatment on one mare and now on the other for stessiness!!
Its absolutly wonderful stuff- both mares are so different and calmer when there on it.
My loopy stressy WB has changed into almost an angel with it!
He is prone to colic, gaseous, and has always been sore in his stomach area, probably ulcers but after consultation with the vet we decided not to scope as he is getting old and it is too stressful for him.
Anyway he is amazing on the Coligone, happy and no more grumpiness. I give the powder every day and keep the liquid for emergencies. It has taken him from almost continual wind-sucking to virtually none, he just does one small one when we arrive and one when he gets his bucket. He will stay on it for the rest of his life, I really cannot recommend it highly enough!
