Ali can get a bit "stressy" when travelling, and was wondering whether Coligone would help? For those of you that have used it is it worthwhile or are there better products on the market? Thanks in advance

I think it's brilliant (see post I made in lounge earlier...it's dropped a bit!), I always give Toff some before travelling and it does help her. I have also used it when she is in season and when she has spasmodic colic, brilliant stuff

I use it too - before travelling to an event. Means he does not tuck up as much and therefore does not arrive back at the end of the day looking so tucked up. I recommend it, but I would not say it 'calms' as such, more that he feels more comfortable so eats more! My theory is that when I am excited/nervous I often don't want to eat, then you get those horrid hunger cramps and really don't want to eat - vicious circle. Coligone seems to just mean he will eat his nets, so does not tuck up as much. Just a theory mind! I only use it for long journeys though - eventing trips etc, when we are going 30mins up the road for SJ or dressage I do not bother.

Just what is it you want a product for CM...how is he stressy? Youve only havd him a short while so maybe he just needs time to settle?

When we travel him and arrive at our destination he's a bit sweated up, and you can see once the ramps up and he's tied up he's a bit worried and slightly panicked. Dad's friend who helped us to sort out his loading problem said that he is a bit of a bad traveller, so was hoping there are some products which might help ease his stress. We have only done 4 journeys with him so far (one was an hour, then all the others were 20 - 30 minutes) Hopefully after a few trips he'll realise that there's nothing to worry about...

Id be inclined to try something like rescue remedy if this is causing you concern.

tbhI suspect after a few more journeys he will settle anyway. Lots of horses sweat on travelling and often it isnt through being worried, sometimes its excitement!

It could be a mixture of fear and excitement possibly, but even when we unload him he's very panicky about that and rushes out quickly (which is definitely not part of excitement), he's most likely had a bad experience, as when he was brought over from Denmark anything could've happened!

Haven't tried him in company with Castle as he HATES partitions, and it took a while to get him to load confidently without them. Any recommendations for a good calmer? NAF any good?

That could be excitement you know - mine unloads at a canter every time as he is so thrilled to be somewhere - I know his entire history as I bought him from his breeder, he has never had a bad experience, it is just the way he is.
