colitis horse update

spoke to vet - horse now eating a little hay and a few nuts but the diarrhoea is quite bad. Vet also thinks is caused by bute which means some pretty serious thinking of his future once he comes through this as he needs 2 bute a day to be ridden or one to be field sound. Vet says to concentrate on getting him better and if we do then will sit down with his normal vet and find out best way forward.Apparently he is on critical intensive care watch which means he will have someone with him permanently which means he will get all the cuddles he loves so am v happy!

I guess you do have some serious thinking to do regarding keeping him comfortable in the future

Thank you for the update.

Hopefully there's some other treatment that will help him when he recovers from this. I'm sure the vets wouldn't be putting you both through this if they thought his other problem couldn't be managed.
