just wondering if anyone here had used collagen for dogs and seen an improvment?

not sure if its the collagen making the difference or the drop in temperature thats made her a bit more excitable. hard to tell. shes lab x chesapeake and 12 years old

There was a study done that showed undenatured type 2 collagen caused pain relief in dogs undergoing knee surgery, so I use it ( along with various other things)

I’m in Australia, although I think you guys have antinol now. It’s krill oil and green lip mussel and pretty good.

I tried Pawable for about 2 months with my whippet, introduced it very slowly and thought it was doing a good job, if only to encourage his enthusiasm for food. Unfortunately there was a truly terrible incident of explosive diarrhoea, which I can honestly say he’s never had in 15 years. I can’t say the collagen was the cause but the website does mention this has been an issue with a very small percentage of dogs causing a “shedding” event. I’m sure they’re right but I really don’t want a repeat of Bumgate !

I bought some for my old girl but being a powder I had problems getting her to eat it so started giving it my younger (8yr old) girl. She is an energetic dog anyway but I am seeing a lot more enthusiasm and her stamina at agility seems better. When finances permit I may well buy more. Both mine are on a joint supplement anyway.

haha bumgate hahahahaahaha mine has quite bad IBD so i have to be really careful introducing new things. she has slightly loose stools for a couple of days but then was fine. its really helping her i think! shes jumped on the bed twice in the last week which she hasnt done for months!

i started it myself a few days ago, be interesting to see if it works! its certainly helping her, she bombed off chasing loads of pheasants today, which was nice to see!
