Collagen Necrosis

Hi

My horse has a number of hard lumps on his back which come up every summer and go down again in the winter. The vet says that they are collagen necrosis where tissue has died following an allergic reaction to fly bites (he is very sensitive to bites). The vet says that they don't hurt him, but as they are under the saddle area I wondered whether anyone knew of any alternative treatment which might help in reducing them?

Thanks

My pony gets these, I just leave them alone. Hers are sometimes under the saddle but don't seem to get sore, just go a bit bald. Sorry if thats really unhelpful!

One of mine has this they are quite big and have gone bald. They do not effect her and are not sore. I have tried various things and nothing up to now has worked. As they are not hurting her i just leave them alone.
