Well finally the day is here.

We bought Jay back in April. He spent 3 weeks with the man who I bought him from and then he went away to be backed. Now that is done, we can collect him.

We're getting him at lunchtime today. We are soooo excited.:D

All home safe and sound. We got to the trainers yard about 12.15 and his lad rode Jay in the arena at walk trot and canter on each rein. Then my daughter got on and did the same. They have taught him to be lunged too.

Then came the fun part of putting him in the trailer. I have an Ifor W 505 and was a bit concerned about height but it was fine (Jay is about 16.1hh). I had the partition out so he had plenty of space. He has been in a lorry before but as far as I know never a trailer. He really didn't want to go in and messed about for about 5 mins before suddenly leaping straight in, so we put the ramp up quick!

He travelled very well all the way home (about 2 hours). He has not been on our yard before so another new thing for him. He walked calmly off the trailer and into his stable and had a good sniff round, did a poop in the corner and then ate some hay before coming to the door to see us and hear us talking about him! We left him eating a few nuts and carrots and will pop down later to skip out etc. He also had his wormer so he can go in the field with our other horse, Manni, in 24 hrs time.

I can see that his neck needs some work - currently he's wearing it upside down! But these things will come. Photos soon I promise.
