back at the end of august i bought a collegiate flash bridle with comfort headpiece. within a month of buying it the piece of rubber that hides where the leather and rubber join on the reins split, i went back to where i bought it from thinking they would just replace the reins but they said they would have to send the whole bridle off to the manufacturer, i said i would make do as it would've left me without a bridle for i don't know how long.

anyway it's all been fine until last night when i was cleaning it and i noticed that on both the reins and cheek pieces where they attach to the bit the first keeper bit before the billet hooks has nearly broken. this could be fun if it completely breaks out hunting.

this wasn't a cheap bridle and i would expect much longer use from it than a few months. i would take it back to the shop but i no longer have the reciept and as they were so unhelpful before can't imagine they are going to be very helpful now.

i was wondering if anyone else has had a similar problem with collegiate bridles and does anyone have any advice on what to do? sorry it's so long

Go on internet, and find their address and write with pics of the problem, I think you will probably get a favourable reply. I had same or similar thing with a Gallop one last year, and they sent me a new one and I sent the broke one back in a envelope they provided.

That's why I won't touch Collegiate - rubbish. Sending back rather than replacing by the tack shop is now fairly standard practice. I agree that you would be best going direct to collegiate

I have avoided buying collegiate as I've heard similar stories - know of one person who had problems within the first 3 months and when she took it back she was told it was to be 'expected' as it was a 'fashion bridle'!

I have a Collegiate bridle in almost daily use, now nearly 4 years old. We had the split piece of rubber on the reins but it wasn't a safety issue, more a turnout one. We just got another set of reins for "best" and carried on with it.

I'm quite pleased with it actually, I'd certainly buy another one as this one has lasted so well. It still looks good, and is not exactly cleaned after every use.

i have treid googling collegiate to find a contact address for them but all i come up with is different online shops selling their products. does anyone have an idea where i can find out a direct contact for them?
