I have two collies, both are working sheep dogs and both are very good at manipulating me to where they want me, my OH has 4 workers and they don't give him any bother!

I dont know the exact answer to stop it but it is a very 'collie' thing to do and a natural instint to herd.

I personally would start doing some work with her and find a training school or local farms that would teach you how to train her to herd properly and when told to do so.

It obviously comes very naturally to her so start using it to your advantage and hopefully this cheeky bit will pass over when she starts having to use her brain.

Mine does this too - will round up me and the horse though will not generally try and dictate direction. That's done by looking meaninfully at me and then in the direction he wants to go.

he sees his mission in life as 'guarding' and does this to the horse, cat and the chickens! Funnily enough he doesn't always try and herd them but will follow them everywhere and round them up to keep them together (the chickens anyway!)

Its a collie hting, but im quite lucky in that mine only does it on walks if I am walking kicking a ball, but not for him to chase (hehe mean mummy!)

then the moment its kicked hes gone!!!

It ankle nipped a few times when younger, got a tap and a stern NO (as it was a proper firm collie nip as he is from working stock) and he has never done it again!
he some times herds if OH play fights but thats my OH's problem (and fault) not Beaus!

Did you know that only when you have 5 generations of registered working sheepdog can you register with the kennel club for the name BORDER collie. I didnt until I was talking to my eldest daughter last night.... well well well!!!
