Collie showed odd behaviour for a few minutes today

2yo male collie--best friend 3yo JR bitch who rules the household in the nicest possible way
Typical collie, circles the cats, plays rough with JR, circles the horses--sometimes pushes his luck and gets tied up while they eat in the field.
This morning bouncing around loose as usual while I made horse feeds--took feeds to horses and coming back dog standing oddly head to one side and very scared looking.
Walking like his ''knickers' too tight and tail higher than usual.
Watch him very carefully, he could wag tail, was obedient, could cock leg both sides.
The episode soon passed, no sign of blood, cant feel any lumps, teeth OK eyes normal.

Suspect horse has caught him a glancing blow or chased him very quickly through fence and he banged himself
Within half an hour he seemed 100% his normal self and is fine 12hrs later--eaten and enjoyed his meal.
My friend thought he could have had a wee fit but I did not see anything happen

It sounds as if something was a little tight in his back or something maybe your right a horse could of gave him a little kick. Was you fence electric ??

Sounds like my boy, he damaged his lumbosacral joint and needed a wee course of anti-inflammatories.

He was stretching a lot too, though and carried his right hind a bit tight because he didn't want to hurt himself, but striding out in front. It can happen with dogs who like to hoon around a lot, jumping and twisting in the air for a ball, or like my idiot dog, jumping from the top of a great height and crashing to the floor

If he shows no further ill effects it might have just been a wee knock but if you are worried, pop him to the vet.

As Dingle, the fence may also have caught him and while I would keep an eye on him, probs not a fit x

No electric fence but dog the skinny type who tries to dive through the same space as the JR

Thanks for replies--I was ready to bundle him straight into car to vets this morning but his recovery was so quick I would probably have been paying for them to say he seems OK

Ditto those above. My youngster is always running into things and either going hopping lame or looking "ouchy" for a few minutes. He may well have just caught his back when diving through a fence. As long as he is fine now I wouldn't worry.
