Excuse the pun, I couldn't resist.
My mum's 12 year old rough collie is starting to lose coordination in her back end. It's quite mild at the moment, but I noticed today that she doesn't "come through" in the trot and when she canters she puts both hind legs down together. (excuse the horse jargon, I don't know much about dogs!)
Also if you pat her on the bottom, her back end collapses and she sits down.
She's otherwise very well and fit.

I don't think she is in any pain at all, at least not yet. She is off to the vets anyway next week for jabs, so my mum will discuss options with the vet then, but I just wondered if anyone knows of any possible treatments for this problem. I'm guessing that it's just old age and little can be done, but you never know!
