Colour change or sun bleaching one for the breeders? Also in breeding

My two year old is passported as chocolate dun but seems to be buckskin. Just in the last week or two his coat has changed colour very noticeably and he has lightened in colour. It has done nothing but rain here for a number of weeks but been a little sunnier this week amongst the rain.
