Would a tan colour bridle be appropriate for the dressage? I'm not so sure and think I'm probably better off with my old dark brown one, although a friend has said it would be ok. Horse is chestnut and actually the new tan bridle looks better on him than the old one, which is fairly ancient and made up of various different parts I have added over the years

. The tan one also matches my jumping saddle better, which I use for all phases as I havn't got a dressage saddle to fit him. I'll use the tan one for the sj and xc but I don't think it would be suitable for dressage, especially at Eventing Ireland, might get away with it for Riding Club

what does anyone else think?

i think you can use it, all eventing ireland say is compulsory is that the bridle is leather

when you starting and what region are you in?:D

I don't think it would matter too much (you could definately use them!) I don't know that I have ever seen anyone with tan tack on but then that doesn't really mean anything!
What region are you in?

Hi, I'm in the South Leinster region. I only started Eventing Ireland late this year, I did hunter trials and RC for the first half of the year. I did Ballinacoola on a day ticket so just did prenovice and he was pretty good, an OK dsg (34 ish), clear sj and a stupid stop xc which was my fault. The plan was then to do Calvertown and Tatts and then move him up to CNC* for Glandoran and Dromiskin at the end of the season. However, as Calvertown and Tatts were cancelled, there wasn't really any point in paying for full membership for just 2 events so I just registered us both as restricted and now we're doing Glandoran and Calverstown prenovice, the RC ODE Champs, and maybe Tatts, and then I'll do full membership and he can move up to Novice at the beginning of next year

I've never seen anyone using tan bridles at EI either and so I think I might be safer sticking to the dark brown one

Sounds fine - especially if it matches your saddle.

I have one of those JW saddles that is rather burgundy-ish instead of normal brown, but it wouldn't stop me using it if I wanted to.
