Hey all! This is the first time I have posted on here and wondered if anyone had any advice? I have a 3month old coloured dutch WB colt who is a total stunner! The only problem is his attitude! He is really stand offish and totally unfriendly! This is despite me handling him and his mum nearly every day! Iam an experienced horse woman and Iam about at the end of my tether. It's like he wants nothing to do with humans at all. He is just completely indifferent. The other day I was scratching his bum which is the only thing he seems to respond to and he booted me in the thigh! Bluddy hurt I can tell you! Iam taking him to the futurity at the end of the month and Iam worried how he is going to come accross. Has anyone else had a foal with a similar attitude?

Colts and foals in general can be cheeky as anything in my experience. 3months is young, just persist with the handling, he should settle into it in time, especially once weaned, you will be his new mummy

Some are like that, he'll come round when he trusts you a bit more, just keep making a fuss of his mum and let him come round in his own time, he soon come inquisative, then in time friendly.
