Can anyone tell me if a 14 month old colt was put in with mares do the mares come into season this time of year and is the colt fertile if his testicles have not dropped. Thanks

Its the YO and she is adamant that he cant do anyharm. She put him in there to see if he would drop. being with mares. People really annoy me. Yesterday she said we keep looking to see if he is humping anybody and today they just left the yard. He was just grazing when I saw him.

Do you have a mare in there with him?

If a mare of mine was 'caught' like that the YO would be footing all the Vet bills incurred getting her 'uncaught' again.

Mares come into season at the most unexpected times, I had one flashing a stallion in December last year, that was in -10C and with snow on the ground, not the time you'd expect a mare to show.

Oh dear - I knew a yearling colt that got a yearling filly in foal mid winter - he only had one testicle down which was why he had not been cut. Yard Owner wants a kick up the ....!

Yes Enfys I have two mare in there. YO has two elderly mares and another lady has a section A. Apparently before my time she had to have the mares injected when she put a colt in there once before and he apparently dropped and was doing the deed.
