Hi folks,

Thinking of having a go at a CT,

ok on the jumping phase, but
what would be the correct dress for the dressage section tweed or navy jacket tie stock colour of gloves?, and its under BD rules so that's no grackle - is that right?

Would you say a novice test would be a tough start? only the height of the jumps for the prelim tests are quite low.

Thanks

I wear a navy jacket with navy gloves but there are lots of people who wear tweeds too.

At my last one, I did a prelim test with 2'3 jumps but didn't get placed very high as, even though my DR score was quite good, most people went clear in the jumping.
However I also did a prelim test with 2'9 jumps and a novice test with 2'9 jumps and got placed 2nd in both because I got the only clears

Can't you try both? Which Novice test is it? Some are more straightforward than others so you could give it a go!

You can't go wrong wearing tweed with a coloured stock and dark gloves!!
Novice tests vary, it depends how established your horse is with the flat work and what you hope to achieve doing CT, if its just for a bit of fun and you want to jump bigger fences then go for. If you're going to take it seriously and hope to qualify then I would imagine the novice dressage standard is quite hot!!
Good luck!!
