Comfort noseband

My mare has a very sensitive nose/skin and whenever I ride her in a noseband she stops every 10 minutes to rub her face.

I stopped using a noseband and she stopped rubbing so I know that this is what is irritating her, I am happy to ride without one at home but would like one for shows as she looks funny without one!

Any ideas of really soft ones or would I be best using a sheepskin cover or something?

Were you using a flash, drop, cavesson or grackle?

You should find she will not rub in a cavesson. However they have to get used to them, a horse thats been turned away and then ridden nearly always mutters about the noseband, but usually only if its one that shuts their mouth!

She is ridden in a cavesson, I have tried cleaning it loads to make the leather softer but she still rubs!

You can buy prolite pads that go under the noseband from the robinsons catalogue...and also sheepskin noseband sleeves.

They might make it more comfy for her?

Maybe its too loose? in a effort to make it more comfortable maybe it moves about too much? Other than that I wouldnt worry too much. if she doesnt need it, its a good thing!
