This is our schedule so far - just the showing, still working on other.
What do you think? Is it o.k.? What would you change?
Showing Ring 1
Classes 1-5 are for beginners in showing. The Horse or Pony must be clean, plaited or un-plaited.
The Rider/Handler must be clean & tidy wearing suitable footwear and up to standard hat.
Class 9.00 am start
1. Neatest and cleanest Horses & Ponies Rider any age including lead rein
2. Have a go Lead Rein 10 years & under
3. Most suitable Horse or Pony 16 years & under
4. Most suitable Horse or Pony 17 years & over
5. Family Pony/Cob Suitable for any member of the family. Rider any age
6. Have a go Championship 1st & 2nd placeings from class 2 - 5
7. Most appealing Horse/Pony In-Hand or ridden
8. Thelwell type Pony Kindly sponsored by Methuen In- Hand or Ridden
9. Fancy Dress In-Hand or Ridden

In-Hand Showing Ring 2
Class 10 - 15 In-Hand only. Class 10 - 1, 2, 3 year olds only. Class 11 - 14 any age.

Looks good! I like the fact that there are lots of novelty and beginners classes.

The cleveland bay classes are unusual though, do you have a lot of these in your area? Enough to fill 2 classes on their own?

Also, you don't have a show pony/horse class for in hand but you do have a show hunter pony horse/inhand??

Oh, and are classes 22 and 23 like equitation? If so, I would call them equitation.

I will look at that. I put neatest and cleanest as it is for beginners that only have hat/boots.

Looks great- you are probably going to have to split the M&M classes so that the Large and small breeds are seperate- as you usually find that thlose classes get filled really easily. And may end up with 20+

Thanks for that. Reading back over it they need to be mind readers. Will add what it is judged on.
I am a dreadful speller - worked with horses instead of going to school

Cleveland Bay - was a request. They are bred close to Lincoln. There is a show there tomorow - all Cleveland Bays. It was requested. I am going to see what interest there would be. I may change the In-Hand to show pony/horse as there are hunter classes for th CB's.
The CB's classes will be dropped if there is not the interest tomorrow.
Will look at 22 23 thankyou.

Crikey. Yes i was in two minds about that. At a local show not many eneter but we have had a lot of interest. 20 would be a bit much in one class and it is hard to judge some of the smaller ones against the larger breeds.
I was trying to reduce the number of classes

It is in Washingborough on Bardney Road. The main road from Lincoln to Bardney. Can't be missed, huge field with loads of horses on main road - well in the field i hope.

We first moved a caravan on and mainly colourds. People thought travellers had moved in.

Would you like a schedule? Still working on it with help of this forum but nearly there.

The general idea is good but it does need some fine honing. It seems very muddled at the moment and quite a few similar classes. DO use your spell-check as there are many words that are incorrect though they may not be recognised as wrong on your PC. Head each Ring and description in BOLD so that it is not confused with the actual classes. For each class you must put the height restriction and riders age restriction rather than a vague note at the top.

e.g. Class 20 Leading Rein Pony. Riders 9 years and under, ponies 12.2 hh & under. To be shown in a snaffle, lead rein attached to noseband. Sponsored by ....

Class 16 Odd-coloured - dun, roan, palomino or spotted. Any age, any height. Sponsored by ......

For your qualifying classes you will need to put the Association's rules in print in the schedule and describe each class individually, as above. Try and make sure that none of the classes clash with similar in other rings, which I know is sometimes difficult.

Add your sponsors name on last to each class, not before the description.

Hope this doesn't sound too negative but I'm in my element when I'm planning schedules and have got it down to a fine art. If you need any practical help, like layout etc., please PM me.

This is a quick write up to put the schedule together with adverts etc.

You might like to explain the difference between classes 21 (First Ridden) and 22 (Best ridden 16 years & under). Can a combination enter both? Are their any height restrictions on either class?

On the Mountain and Moorland class, you might like to say whether they need to be registered or not.

Classes 35, 36 and 37 need to explain the rider age restrictions and pony height restrictions.
