Took on a new paddock a couple of months back, now everything is started to grow I have spotted an awful lot of common hogweed starting to sprout up, it's too far spread to spray at the moment, is it a major risk to the ponies? It's definitely the common one and not the giant one, there have been horses on it for about three years before I took over and they didn't die :) so should I carry on grazing? The other side of the paddock is much better but it's laden with white clover so far too rich for my natives
I've even spotted a clump of what looks like ragwort attempting to grow so will be digging that out tomorrow, thank you in advance

Common hogweed is edible and tasty. Don't confuse with the giant, poisonous stuff. The only thing the horses will get if they eat too much of it is indigestion. :)
