Contact one of the rescue centres. An oldie (without cushings or lami) might be perfect. Some of them need more food to keep the weight on.

Been looking myself for a shettie to 13hh mare, there is nothing at all in the rescue centres in the south of england in that size & sex - unless you take on an under 3 (and thats not what I'd been looking for at all) and believe you me, I've phoned them all - and also been into a few places to double check :(

So - I am jumping on Holidays_are_coming's bandwagon (ok, thread, sorry Hac) to also ask the same question.
Am NW Surrey, plenty of paddocks, good company, stables & field shelters - space for 1 to join 1 who likes company. Would even consider offering bloody good (negligable) livery instead if someone wanted it..... (tho the companion must not go out without big Fuzzy:eek:)
Hence the need for 1 to really loan/buy etc....

Hi

I have a 20 month old welsh section D gelding that I am trying to sell as I dont have the time or finances for him at the moment. I would consider a loan as a companion to someone though for 1 - 2 years until he is ready to back.

He is a really easy friendly pony (with humans and horses), lives in or out.

If anyone is interested let me know.

My friend is thinking of selling this...
Approx 11.2hh, 3yr old (?), Shetland X. Not sure how much she would want for him, but he would make a lovely companion!

C&P'd from facebook:
URGENT home needed for a 28 year old mare Peggy. She has bred 21 foals in her life and needs a nice companion home as her owner broke her leg and her husband has to go into hospital for an operation just after Christmas. Shes a lovely mare 13hh coloured, very gentle but they just cannot afford to keep her. Treorchy area of south wales. Can anyone help asap please.

These people are NOT the ones who bred 21 foals from her!
Can get you contact details if you want them OP

Isn't there anything on here.

This site always upsets me with the oldies looking for new homes

http://www.veteran-horse-welfare.co.uk/VHW142hhunder.htm

Thx for the link Rockysmum, but I cannot look on there again :( its too sad that animals aged 30+ are to be re-homed now they are unable to be ridden, with arthritis, have sweet-itch etc :(

Have had lovely offer from someone on here, & we'll be in contact in the new year - even if mnmnm is miles away :)
