How hard are they to find and does anyone have success or failure stories?

If you were giving up all your horses and one couldn't be sold on what would you do? They are healthy other than a current leg injury (just needs winter rest no treatment etc).

I am concerned if I find a lovely home that it won't turn out to be that. I am worried this pony will be passed from pillar to post etc. I would loan to begin with to help avoid the wrong home

I am considering PTS if I cannot find the right loving home. But this idea does scare me for the reasons that are obvious (I adore my pony).

Please can I have useful responses and pm me with any suggestions if don't want to post them. I am heart broken anyway but finances mean I have to give up.

Thank you.

sorry for your sad news, hindsight is a wonderful thing, we can only go by our gut feelings for any situation in life, if you feel its not right dont do it, if it feels good give it a chance. good luck

ive said this before and still stand by this view;;

if you cannot afford your horses, and want to guarantee a permanent place for them - euthanize.

in this economy no-one can say forever

sorry.

I totally agree. I don't see it as a heartless decision or a cruel thing because they die knowing nothing. In fact the horse would die having lived out the best summer he has ever known. With love care and attention he so deserved. It's more myself that I'm unsure I can cope but I will ultimately do what's best for him.

If a companion home appears then I will look into this but again I don't want him thrown in a field and forgotten about!

The decision is the hard part :(
