Companion Horses?

Well basically my friend has to put her horse in a field long story, basically he cannot be ridden. So if anyone needs of a horse to go in a field all year round or if anyone could help me find somewhere that would be very helpful.

Also would need to be most of the year, as he needs to be out over winter or he goes quite loopy as his leg gets bad as our yard does not have winter turnout.
