Ok so some of you know I have taught my OH to ride, who is 6ft 4.

He has really got the bug and is wanting to do some shows next year, on Lance, as he is very experienced so wil 'hopefully' look afer him.

He wants to do some showing classes first, veteren classes and so on, and my worry is that he wont do well, because he makes Lance , who is a BIG horse, look like a pony!

And also, I gave him his first jumping lesson the other day, and he loved it, and really wants to do some jumping classes once he is more experienced, will his height get in the way, Im worried he will knock the poles off with his feet LOL! I suppose I can always make his stirrups really short!

This is how he looks on Lance:

Luckily Lance is broad too which helps, but he even makes 17.3hh Beau look small:

I think he looks fine too, his feet aren't knocking his knees or anything. I taught my OH on a 16.1hh and he is 6'4" and broad. I don't know much about showing, but I can't imagine they would be hard on a tall guy on a big horse. Jumping he'll be fine. Never got mine to a show though - breeches were a step too far!

See a friend said I should show him because OH is too tall she said he wouldnt be able to show off Lance's size and presence because he makes him look so small.

So now OH is worried he is going to look like an eejit.

Hey...being tall hasn't stopped William Fox Pitt (he gets good dressage marks as well as jumping!) Go for it!

My ex OH was 6'2" and rode our old 16:3 girl with no trouble, she was shirexclydesdale, but I can't say that your OH looks any more out of proportion thane he did, go for it I say.:)
