Last time I competed in dressage in November, my lad sent me flying through the air and I wound up in A&E for 3 hours. I've finally plucked up the courage to do it again this weekend, but am absolutely bricking it.

I've got a 'game plan' for the day - it involves:
- a quiet hack to warm up as opposed to jostling with loads of others in the warm-up arena;
- entered 2 tests, which are 2 hours apart, so if one goes attrociously, he will hopefully be settled for the next one
- learning the tests well enough to repeat them in my sleep
- having everything ready the night before so I can just rock up, tack up and go...

But some famous HHO vibes and advice would help a treat right about now...

Well good luck!! Thing is, i know the feeling.. I am just getting my own horse out and about (i.e hiring schools out) but i know soon I will have to bite the bullet and actually do OUR first test (and that's both our firsts)

So scary.. It's all well and good talking about it, but doing it is another thing.

You know what the most important thing is though (and this is from my opinion)

Look at the whole situation as a training exercise... Do not think you are competing for real, just think, right lets see what I need to work on, lets get him used to doing this or that. It's all about preperation and this is still part of your preperation -

Best of luck and let us know how you get on.xx

Thanks - that's great advice! I will - and hopefully (assuming we don't unexpectedly part company) I will post some photies!!
