As title says really.
I have a 5yr old thoroughbred that was diagnosed with beginning of spavin at Christmas. She has since had one course of tildren and field rest. She went back to vet last week and is sound on a straight line, 2/10 lame after flexion.
He said xrays show the joint looks as though it is starting to fuse and to start hacking to encourage it further. I am to go back after 4 weeks if the lameness gets worse and he may consider operating...?!
Basically I bought her to event (probably pre-novice max-1m10). Just wondering if anyone has success stories with competition horses? I know plenty of horses with a spavin go on to hack/gently school but this horse lives to jump and really isn't a happy hacker type!
Thanks in advance for replies
