Quick query for you all

My horse has mild conjunctivitis and was due to compete this weekend

Eyes are not swollen, but have nasty yellow muck in the corners morning and night. Being treated with Chloromycetin

So what to do?

I have had conjunctivitis at it can make you feel a bit crap too so I would not even contemplate competing...let him get better 100% first.

isnt it highly contagious? well it is in humans anyways. Id nver compete my horse if it wasnt feeling 100%, and he is probably feeling a bit rubbish to say the least.

Having had conjunctivitus I know how irritating it is and how much you want to just close your eyes and be quiet!

It will probably irritate his eyes more by going somewhere that could be dusty (if in a school or on dry ground) so I would recommend giving this weekend a miss. After all, the sooner he is better the sooner you can get back to normal!
