as christmas is around the corner, im hoping to get some new stuff ready for next season. everything will be low keyy and local stuff. as she will only be 4yr so just introducign everything really.

just curious for showing would a need a blue hat, or will black be ok ( only asking as im not so keen on blue, but id rather have the correct stuff since im buying new)

also if im showing a thoroughbred, do i need a tweed jacket?? anny particular colour, would a black showjacket be suitable?

for horse turnout being a TB which is best a pulled or plaited, shes 16.3ish if that makes any diff to classes etc.

oh and are they to be shown in plain bridles or one with the coloured browbands, flat or raised noseband??

im not a showing person...but i have dabbled in my childhood/early teens

but a guess would be if you have black jacket - black hat, navy jacket - navy hat, tweed jacket - brown hat

showing a TB...well it depends what classes you will be going in...if it is working hunter/ridden hunter then i would go for tweed, but if it is large ridden horse, tack and turnout, ex racehorse classes then i think black/navy jacket is better.

plait, always plait. unless its a mountain and moorland class.

as for bridles, again depends on the class...working hunter/ridden hunter prefer plain nosebands/browbands, no colours...but i *think* riding horse you can wear the coloured browbands...but tbh i hate coloured ones...just go for plain, smart, simple and you cant go wrong with plain

as for raised/flat...it doesnt really matter as to the classes (i think anyway) but for a TB, i cant imagine flat looking the best...raised would suit a TB face better

good luck! xxx

thankyou, muchly appreciated

hmm im aiming for exracer classes, large riding horse and youngster classes at present.

so she doesnt need her tail pulling?

Ladies, showing anything - Navy hat, with the ribbons sewn up, preferably with flesh coloured harness. Hair in a neat bun with net(s)
Brown (or possibly yellowish if riding a Hack) gloves.
TB horse - if showing as anything but a Hack - Tweed jacket.
Short and tie (NOT a stock!)

Black jackets (and hats) are only worn by some men in the Show ring.
