Competition clothing confusion

Hi, I’m going to university soon and will be joining the riding team there and doing competitions. I’ve been riding for 5 years now but have only recently this year had a desire to start competing.
I’m currently trying to find competition clothes, but the dress codes I’ve read online aren’t all 100% clear and sometimes seem to be contradictory, so I’m just hoping someone with a bit more knowledge can tell me what is allowed andwhats not. I will be doing both novice and intermediate level dressage and showjumping competitions.
For example, my riding boots are brown, is that allowed at both levels or must they be black?
Can you wear coloured ties with a black/ navy jacket or can they only be worn with tweed jackets?
Also, what would be the best coloured jodhpurs to get? The colours vary between websites, so I just need to make sure I get some that will always be allowed, or does it not matter as long as they’re light coloured?
Thank you for any help anyone can give me, it is greatly appreciated, and also sorry for such the long post lol

Unless you are doing the higher levels of dressage, IMO you can never be wrong in a tweed jacket, this should be worn with a shirt and tie for showing, and can be also worn with a coloured/spotted/check stock for both jumping and dressage.

Personally if you prefer not to wear tweed, i like to see navy on a lady with a cream or ivory stock however black is also correct for ladies but more often seen on men.
Beige or ivory breeches go with everything, IMO white breeches are for the very slim and aren't really practical and have a tendency to go transparent when wet!

Brown boots are OK and would go better with tweed, obviously.

Thank you so much for your help. I would prefer to wear a navy jacket, and I’ve seen one online that has red piping. Is it okay to wear a red tie with it to match or is this not correct? Or should I wear a white/cream tie/stock instead? And if so which is best? I have read a lot about this online but I’m still not sure
