Ok so i posted this last night in the new lounge, but i could do with afew more price ideas because i do not not if he is priced correctly. (i am a in the position to buy)

Ok so ned is 16hh, 10 years old, £2,000 BSJA, been to most major championships. Jumping 1.10m with novice.

Soooo price what would you pay for it???

Difficult one! Presumably horse has reached it's limit and isn't going to be top top class, therefore is being sold as a schoolmaster. Based on its winnings you will only be eligible to jump in opens etc.
That said, if it's easy and genuine with no vices etc. I am sure it would be very desirable to many people.
Firstly what do you want to do with it? If you are wanting a sc hoolmaster I would ignore the fact that it has £2000 BSJA as that could be quite deceptive, what I would do however is check out the 1.10m record with the novice ... if that is good then I guess around £10-15 K especially if the horse will also do a dressage test and/or go XC.
I may be way out on this one though!

I only got told about this (abit complicated tbh) yesterday. So the info above is all i know for now. Will find out more today.

I already have two horses which i jump BSJA, one is fairly new and just a diesel horse to jump around 1- 1.05m the other horse is grade b and was jumping 1.20/1.25m. (injured at the mo) so i want something to run along side him.

Its just an option at the mo, so justed wanted a rough idea of its worth.

Depends what height this horse got up to? He *could* have won his £2k at up to 1.15m level for example. You'd need to ask to see what level he was at. Id want to see a print out of his BSJA record, then you can judge what he's worth from that. Id also want to know usual things like if he has any vices, how he is to handle / hack / shoe etc.

Hmmm...depends on what he can do. There are loads of 'Grade A' horses out there jumping 1.10m's with amateurs and most of them can jump max 1.30m's with a pro...hence they are sold to amateurs.

Price wise...anything from £5k to £15k depending on how appealing he is visually, how consistent he is (presumably reasonably if he's won £2k...but check his printout carefully) and who's selling him lol!

Ok, so this might help. I have got his print out, and he has jumped upto 1.30 and b&c's ect. But since in 2005 jumped 1.25 then down to 1.00m - 1.10m??

Seems he was very successful with miss X then jumped lower. Suppose he could have thrown the towel in, or the other person is not as experienced as Miss X??

Is Miss X a known name ?

Sounds pretty much like amateur scenario I mentioned above tbh...a good horse with a limit of 1.30's

I would say £6-8K. There is a very similar horse for sale around here and that was on at 8k and didn't sell. There is also another horse which has been jumping bigger classes than that and he is only 5K. As his recent form is only 1.10, and round here you would struggle to find classes to jump in. Are you allowed to do Amateur classes or are you ranked too high? I wouldn't value him too high.

My sisters horse which has won 3k and wins everything it goes in upto 1.20 does jump bigger tracks was only valued at 8k if you went purely on his SJ record, he was worth a bit more because he evented.

I would of replied earlier but this forum wouldnt let me on!!!

Ok so i have been studying his record. He seems consistant (sp?) enough. But im still finding it difficult to put a price on him. Arrrh!

tbh i dont think im that bothered about jumping over 1.30m because im no pro!
