I need to get a new jacket (very pleased it's nearly Christmas!), the one I currently compete in is a very old (the tickets says by appointment to HM the king!) Bernard Weatherhall (sp?) very heavy weight wool, it's really a hunting jacket, with longer "flaps" for want of a better word!

Although it is mainly for dressage, it is also needed for show jumping and county level showing. I want it to be super smart but the wool has just been too hot for wearing over the summer (nearly passed out whilst riding it in 35 degree heat). It has to be navy not black, no stupid gold/silver buttons (sorry to those that like it but think old school!).

So does anyone have any makes to recommend? Am hoping to get one at Olympia.

You are SOOO lucky to have a Bernard Weatherhill. They cost around £800 now. You will be lucky to find anythin as nice as that.
I can't afford a Weatherhill, so went for Alexander James which I am pleased with. For showing you need to have as heavy weight a cloth as you can stand as it hangs so much better. Do you do hacks or show ponies? ANyway - try Alexander James - Caldene also do a nice navy which is worth looking at. You need to try some on to see which make suits your shape.

Most of the jacket manufacturers are at Olympia so you will get a chance to try them on there.

possibly a Cavallo one, and replace the buttons (which are silver)? They are lovely lightweight wool so great to wear in the summer, very flattering fit with long flaps, and look mega smart for dressage/SJ.
