Just moved my horse to this. Turnout is 8am untill 2.30pm. Unfit girl with arthritis moved from 24/7 turnout - no choice, had to move quickly - don't ask!!

What's my next move to prevent her seizing up- mad girl who'll take some time to settle? New YO is phenomenally skilled, btw.
Thanks folks:)

Yer im not sure of anything that will help, is she exercised? If she isnt a inhand walk or light exercise might help a bit. Shell prob take a while to adjust and be a bit stiff but once shes used to it will be fine. Sorry cant be of more help.

No, but I could pay them extra to do what ever I want. I work fulltime, so a bit difficult for me. But, she'll be an utter ar*e whatever they try to do, I'm sure, in the first 1 - 2 weeks, until settled.

They're so much more skilled than me, she's in fine hands - I can relax at last, just wondering what schooling regime I should be asking them to set up for her, given the health and history.

Ahh is she in work then? If yes could you just arrange that she goes on gentle afternoon hacks on soft ground with not too much hillwork (where is she arthritic btw out of interest?) a few times a week? If not mabye get someone to take her on an in hand walk on soft ground until she is settled every afternoon :)

No, she's been rested until now. The odd hack once a week, that's all. Bone spavin treated 4 months ago with sterid injections.
