I'm sure (well kinda) that I was feeding a competition mix last winter that didn't have oats in it - this year I've only been using conditioning mix so I haven't needed to think about this yet but as hunting is ending I'd quite like to start changing her over to a more 'sparkley' mix, but she tends to be quite spooky on oats so I'm looking for something without. Is there anything like this about or am I imagining it??

Baileys Endurance mix is excellent. I'm not sure if it is completely oat free, but I know it has a low oat content as too maany makes my horse lumpy! And he isnt on this. Otherwise, you are looking more at comp cubes, as most of the traditional comp mixes have oats in.

What I was feeding last year (that I can't remember the name of) I have a feeling was free of barley & oats etc. but its definately the oats that make her jumpy and spooky so just something oat free I think this year will do!! And she's such a fussy eater she has to be on a mix not cubes, as she only really likes and eats mixes

silly silly mare

The Baileys no.6 endurance is free of oats, just checked!! I really do rate it, gives my horse enough sparkle and energy without sillyness, and only feeding at small amounts....

Nope, as I say she's been on conditioning mix all winter as she's been hunting, she's nutty hunting and needs as much weight gain as possible (she looks like a hat rack at the mo) and she's hard enough to stop at the best of times!! But come spring and the hunter trial season I would like to change her onto something a bit 'fizzier' - the spring grass will sort out her weight issues and I like her fizzy once I'm competing

I am on Spillers slow release energy mix, brilliant stuff they also do it in a quick release form not sure if that would be any good??
